I’m a graphic artist who practices in comics, graphic design, and illustration. I run Vec Royale Illustrative Studio close to Ottawa, Ontario. I also develop and teach community arts programming using comics workshops and comic book publishing. In September 2010, I will become an instructor at the Ottawa School of Art Orleans Campus, teaching adult and children courses on comic art and graphic storytelling.
On the publishing front, I’m adapting a Franco-Ontarian play based on the last capital punishment hanging in Ontario into a graphic novel.
My experience includes:
- an Honours B.F.A. in Visual Arts from the University of Victoria (Victoria, BC);
- an internship with comics publisher Drawn and Quarterly (Montréal, Québec);
- being an administrator and graphic designer for the comics publishing collective Le Studio coopérative Premières Lignes (Gatineau, Québec);
- being Artistic Director for the Queer Youth Comics Project - Jeunesse allosexuelle en BD (bande dessinée) (Ottawa, Ontario); and
- being the Art Director for SilenceBreaker Media Inc., a green social enterprise that recycles materials to engage communities in media projects for empowerment (Sheffield, England).
